Personal development publications

I love to write and have written several books. Although they may look as if they don’t have a common theme, they are connected through the topic of refining human communication and behaviour in both personal and professional contexts.

Here is a list of the titles relating to personal development. Please click on the links below if you wish to purchase any of them:

A Woman’s Way: the transformative journey from hurt to happiness
(O-Books, March 2008)

This is "the" book. Derived from my PhD thesis, it contains the different stages that women go through as they journey from the pit of despair to the pinnacle of confidence and joy. It acts as a bit of a roadmap so that the journey is demystified and it is full of ideas to assist women travellers on their path.

I have used the experiences of twelve women who shared their personal journeys with me. Together, they illuminated the path and offered insights into what helped them most. Although the book is not about them, it is inspired by them and it is for you.

This is one of the very few times that such research has been done by a woman, on women, for women.

Successful Assertiveness in-a-week
(Chartered Management Institute series published in association with Hodder & Stoughton, 1998)

Assertive behaviour often gets a bad press and is often confused with aggression. Assertiveness is a mutually honouring style of communication that enables you to stand up for yourself without destroying your counterpart. It removes doubt from your communication and allows you to arrive at win/win solutions. Another practical book presented in a light-hearted style. A good way to get going on this form of communication.
